Take your love of Steampunk style to new depths with this Steampunk Atmospheric Diving Suit Statue based on the first truly usable nautical scuba gear used in the 1930’s to explore the wreck of the sunken RMS Lusitania. Sculpted with great detail from its flexible joints to pressurized helmet, this high quality statue is hand-cast using real crushed stone bonded with durable designer resin, is cast exclusively in quality designer resin and hand painted in an antique brass finish. Steampunk style with rivets, joints, tubes and pincers, all highlighted by the antique brass finish, this diving suit will fit right in with your other neo-Victorian steampunk collectables. An Atmospheric Diving Suit (ADS) is a small one-person articulated submersible which resembles a suit of armour, with elaborate pressure joints to allow articulation while maintaining an internal pressure of one atmosphere. An ADS can enable diving at depths of up to 2,300 feet (700 m) for many hours by eliminating the majority of significant physiological dangers associated with deep diving. The occupant of an ADS need not decompress, and there is no need for special gas mixtures, so there is little danger of decompression sickness or nitrogen narcosis when the ADS is functioning properly. An ADS can permit less skilled swimmers to complete deep dives, albeit at the expense of dexterity.

Atmospheric Diving Suits in current use include the Newtsuit, Exosuit, Hardsuit and the WASP, all of which are self-contained hard suits that incorporate propulsion units. The Hardsuit is constructed from cast aluminum (forged aluminum in a version constructed for the US Navy for submarine rescue), the upper hull is made from cast aluminum, while the bottom dome is machined aluminum. The WASP is of glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) body tube construction. The underwater environment exerts major physiological stresses on the diver, which increase with depth, and appear to impose an absolute limit to diving depth at ambient pressure. An atmospheric diving suit is a small submersible with a pressure hull which accommodates a single occupant at an internal pressure of about one atmosphere. The provision of hollow arm spaces with pressure resistant joints to carry manually operated manipulators, and usually separate leg spaces, similarly articulated for locomotion, makes a suit resemble a bulky suit of plate armour, or an exoskeleton, with elaborate joint seals to allow articulation while maintaining internal pressure. Steampunk Tritonia Atmospheric Diving Suit Statue sizes: 3 inches/ 7.5 cm x 4 inches/ 10 cm x 8 inches/ 20.5 cm.

Steampunk Darth Vader “Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back” Industrial Empire Statue

This Steampunk Darth Vader Statue is a uniquely Steampunk interpretation of Darth Vader based on an original illustration by Adi Granov. Standing triumphantly, Darth Vader takes on a uniquely steampunk appearance in the work entitled “Industrial Empire”. World-renowned artist Adi Granov created this exclusive illustration in collaboration with Lucasfilm! Reimagined in this iconic style, the Dark Lord of the Sith appears in a forbidding pose, arm outstretched and encased in a battle-worn suit embellished with metal plating, rivets and various pressure gauges. Masterfully recreated in 3D form, the sculptor have captured every nuance of this illustration down to the fine details of the lightsaber hilt and environmental base. The Empire Strikes Back (Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back) is a 1980 American epic space opera film directed by Irvin Kershner, with a screenplay by Leigh Brackett and Lawrence Kasdan, based on a story by George Lucas. The sequel to Star Wars (1977), it is the second film in the Star Wars film series and the fifth chronological chapter of the “Skywalker Saga“. Set 3 years after the events of Star Wars, the film recounts the battle between the malevolent Galactic Empire, led by the Emperor, and the Rebel Alliance, led by Princess Leia.

Luke Skywalker trains to master the Force so he can confront the powerful Sith lord, Darth Vader. Following Star Wars’ success, Lucas hired Brackett to write the sequel. Following her death in 1978, he outlined the whole Star Wars Saga and wrote the next draft himself, before hiring Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) writer Kasdan to enhance his work. To avoid the stress he faced directing Star Wars, Lucas handed this responsibility to Kershner and focused on expanding his special effects company Industrial Light & Magic instead. Filmed from March to September 1979, in Finse, Norway, and Elstree Studios in England, The Empire Strikes Back faced production difficulties, including actor injuries, illnesses, fires, and problems securing additional financing as costs rose. Initially budgeted at $8 million, costs had risen to $30.5 million by the project’s conclusion. Released on May 21, 1980, the highly anticipated sequel became the highest-grossing film that year, earning approximately $401.5 million worldwide. Unlike its predecessor, Empire was met with mixed reviews from critics and fans conflicted over its darker and more mature tone compared to the light-hearted Star Wars. Critics praised the puppeteered character Yoda, a diminutive alien that serves as Luke’s teacher, for having expressive features and characterization.

The film was nominated for various awards and won 2 Academy Awards, 2 Grammy Awards, and 1 BAFTA, among others. Subsequent releases have raised the film’s worldwide gross to $538-549 million and, adjusted for inflation, it is the 13th highest-grossing film in the United States and Canada. In the years since its release, Empire has been critically reassessed and is now regarded as the best film in the Star Wars series and among the greatest films of all time. It has had a significant impact on filmmaking and popular culture and is considered an example of a sequel superior to its predecessor. The climax, where Vader reveals he is Luke’s father, is often ranked as one of the greatest plot twists in cinema. The film spawned a variety of merchandise and adaptations, including video games and a radio play. The United States Library of Congress selected it for preservation in the National Film Registry in 2010. Return of the Jedi (1983) followed Empire, concluding the original Star Wars trilogy. Prequel and sequel trilogies that round out the “Skywalker Saga” have since been released. Steampunk Darth Vader “Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back” Industrial Empire Statue sizes: 6 inches / 15 cm x 5 inches / 13 cm x 12.4 inches / 31.5 cm.

Steampunk Mechanical Gaited Horse Statue

This amazing Steampunk Horse Statue exhibit a prancing horse features a Steampunk style design, with the body of the horse made of gears, steam pipes, tubes and metal shafts. Crafted of cold cast resin, the statue features a metallic bronze finish, with hand painted accents to add to the intricate steampunk styling. It’s a perfect focal point for any Steampunk art collection, and makes a great gift especially for horse lovers. A Gaited Horse is a horse that moves each leg independently. Doing so allows one foot to constantly be on the ground, allowing the horse to conserve more energy than they would while trotting. Gaited Horses are used for traveling as they have greater stamina and endurance. A gaited horse will traditionally have a 4-beat gait. When walking, each foot will fall individually, following a precise pattern. Most gaited horses follow a pattern of right hind, right front, left hind, left front or right front, left hind, left front, right hind. Upon closer observation, this pattern should be rather obvious. Additionally, when you watch a gaited horse walk from the side, you will notice that both legs on one side will move forward simultaneously. The rear foot will always fall before the front foot. Steampunk Elephant Statue, Animals, Elephants & Steampunk Statues, Steampunk Mechanical Elephant Statue

Steampunk Elephant Statue, Animals, Elephants & Steampunk Statues, Steampunk Mechanical Elephant Statue

Steampunk Mechanical Elephant Statue

This awesome Steampunk Elephant Statue is was crafted by master artisan using high quality designer resin and cold cast metal method. Cold cast bronze is the casting method of mixing metal material and resin together in order to create detailed statues with metallic surface. Elephants exhibit mirror self-recognition, an indication of self-awareness and cognition that has also been demonstrated in some apes and dolphins. One study of a captive female Asian elephant suggested the animal was capable of learning and distinguishing between several visual and some acoustic discrimination pairs. This individual was even able to score a high accuracy rating when re-tested with the same visual pairs a year later. Elephants are among the species known to use tools. An Asian elephant has been observed modifying branches and using them as flyswatters. Tool modification by these animals is not as advanced as that of chimpanzees. Elephants are popularly thought of as having an excellent memory. This could have a factual basis, they possibly have cognitive maps to allow them to remember large-scale spaces over long periods of time. Individuals appear to be able to keep track of the current location of their family members. Scientists debate the extent to which elephants feel emotion. They appear to show interest in the bones of their own kind, regardless of whether they are related.

As with chimps and dolphins, a dying or dead elephant may elicit attention and aid from others, including those from other groups. This has been interpreted as expressing “concern“, however, others would dispute such an interpretation as being anthropomorphic, the Oxford Companion to Animal Behaviour (1987) advised that “one is well advised to study the behaviour rather than attempting to get at any underlying emotion”. Elephants can exhibit bouts of aggressive behaviour and engage in destructive actions against humans. In Africa, groups of adolescent elephants damaged homes in villages after cullings in the 1970s and 1980s. Because of the timing, these attacks have been interpreted as vindictive. In parts of India, male elephants regularly enter villages at night, destroying homes and killing people. Elephants killed around 300 people between 2000 and 2004 in Jharkhand while in Assam, 239 people were reportedly killed between 2001 and 2006. Local people have reported their belief that some elephants were drunk during their attacks, although officials have disputed this explanation. Purportedly drunk elephants attacked an Indian village a second time in December 2002, killing 6 people, which led to the killing of about 200 elephants by locals. Military Flying Ace Aviator Owl Steampunk Statue

Prepare to take flight in the airship filled skies with this Military Aviator Owl Steampunk Statue. Created through a process called cold bronze casting, which uses a mix of bronze powder and resin, the resulting statue is reliably durable and incredibly detailed. The finer details of this little aviator’s rig are hand painted with copper and brass enamels, to really bring the figure to life. This adventurous owl makes for the perfect desk companion. A Flying Ace, fighter ace or air ace is a military aviator credited with shooting down 5 or more enemy aircraft during aerial combat. The exact number of aerial victories required to officially qualify as an Ace is varied, but is usually considered to be 5 or more. The concept of the “ace” emerged in 1915 during World War I, at the same time as aerial dogfighting. It was a propaganda term intended to provide the home front with a cult of the hero in what was otherwise a war of attrition. The individual actions of aces were widely reported and the image was disseminated of the ace as a chivalrous knight reminiscent of a bygone era. For a brief early period when air-to-air combat was just being invented, the exceptionally skilled pilot could shape the battle in the skies. For most of the war, however, the image of the ace had little to do with the reality of air warfare, in which fighters fought in formation and air superiority depended heavily on the relative availability of resources.

Use of the term Ace to describe these pilots began in World War I, when French newspapers described Adolphe Pégoud, as l’As (the ace) after he became the first pilot to down 5 German aircraft. The British initially used the term “star-turns” (a show business term). The successes of such German ace pilots as Max Immelmann and Oswald Boelcke were much publicized, for the benefit of civilian morale, and the Pour le Mérite, Prussia’s highest award for gallantry, became part of the uniform of a leading German ace. In the Luftstreitkräfte, the Pour le Mérite was nicknamed Der Blaue Max/The Blue Max, after Max Immelmann, who was the first pilot to receive this award. Initially, German aviators had to destroy 8 allied aircraft to receive this medal. As the war progressed, the qualifications for Pour le Mérite were raised, but successful German fighter pilots continued to be hailed as national heroes for the remainder of the war. The few aces among Combat Aviators have historically accounted for the majority of air-to-air victories in military history. Steampunk Submarine Statue, Animals, Fishes, Ships & Steampunk Statues, Steampunk Submarine Sci-fi Fantasy Statue

Steampunk Submarine Sci-fi Fantasy Statue

This cool cast resin Steampunk Submarine Statue looks straight out of a Jules Verne novel. It is hand painted to bring out the intricate detail in this piece. It will make a great gift for any Steampunk fan. A Submarine (or sub) is a watercraft capable of independent operation underwater. It differs from a submersible, which has more limited underwater capability. It is also sometimes used historically or colloquially to refer to remotely operated vehicles and robots, as well as medium-sized or smaller vessels, such as the midget submarine and the wet sub. Submarines are referred to as “boats” rather than “ships” irrespective of their size. Although experimental submarines had been built before, submarine design took off during the 19th century, and they were adopted by several navies. Submarines were first widely used during World War I (1914-1918), and are now used in many navies, large and small. Military uses include attacking enemy surface ships (merchant and military) or other submarines, aircraft carrier protection, blockade running, nuclear deterrence, reconnaissance, conventional land attack (for example, using a cruise missile), and covert insertion of special forces. Civilian uses for submarines include marine science, salvage, exploration, and facility inspection and maintenance. Submarines can also be modified to perform more specialized functions such as search-and-rescue missions or undersea cable repair.

Submarines are also used in tourism and undersea archaeology. Modern deep-diving submarines derive from the bathyscaphe, which evolved from the diving bell. Most large submarines consist of a cylindrical body with hemispherical (or conical) ends and a vertical structure, usually located amidships, which houses communications and sensing devices as well as periscopes. In modern submarines, this structure is the “sail” in American usage and “fin” in European usage. A “conning tower” was a feature of earlier designs: a separate pressure hull above the main body of the boat that allowed the use of shorter periscopes. There is a propeller (or pump jet) at the rear, and various hydrodynamic control fins. Smaller, deep-diving, and specialty submarines may deviate significantly from this traditional layout. Submarines use diving planes and also change the amount of water and air in ballast tanks to change buoyancy for submerging and surfacing. Submarines have one of the widest ranges of types and capabilities of any vessel. They range from small autonomous examples and 1 or 2 person subs that operate for a few hours to vessels that can remain submerged for 6 months, such as the Russian Typhoon class, the biggest submarines ever built.

Submarines can work at greater depths than are survivable or practical for human divers. The word submarine simply means “underwater” or “under-sea” (as in submarine canyon, submarine pipeline) though as a noun it generally refers to a vessel that can travel underwater. The term is a contraction of submarine boat and occurs as such in several languages, e.g. French (Sous-marin), and Spanish (Submarino), although others retain the original term, such as Dutch (Onderzeeboot), German (Unterseeboot), Swedish (Undervattensbåt), and Russian (Podvodnaya Lodka), all of which mean “submarine boat“. By naval tradition, submarines are still usually referred to as boats rather than as ships, regardless of their size. Although referred to informally as boats, U.S. submarines employ the designation USS (United States Ship) at the beginning of their names, such as USS Alabama. In the Royal Navy, the designation HMS can refer to “Her Majesty’s Ship” or “Her Majesty’s Submarine“, though the latter is sometimes rendered “HMS/m” and submarines are generally referred to as boats rather than ships. Steampunk Submarine Sci-fi Fantasy Statue sizes: 8.5 inches / 21.5 cm x 4 inches / 10 cm x 7 inches / 18 cm.

Steampunk Dragon Statue, Dragons & Steampunk Statues, Steampunk Inspired Mechanical Dragon Statue

Steampunk Dragon Statue, Dragons & Steampunk Statues, Steampunk Inspired Mechanical Dragon Statue

Steampunk Inspired Mechanical Dragon Statue

This gorgeous Steampunk Dragon Statue has finest details and highest quality, truly remarkable. The gears on the statue are sculpted and painted on, they do not move. Made of designer composite resin, hand painted and polished individually. Eragon is an impressive cyborg dragon, the ruler of Patagonia. His skin is made of impenetrable Heliax metal and he runs by fire, gearwork and steampunk nuclear ion technology. Answering to the Council Of Life, his role in this world is to rule and protect the citizens from alien invasion. Draconic creatures appear in virtually all cultures around the globe. Nonetheless, scholars dispute where the idea of a dragon originates from and a wide variety of hypotheses have been proposed. In his book An Instinct for Dragons (2000), anthropologist David E. Jones suggests a hypothesis that humans, like monkeys, have inherited instinctive reactions to snakes, large cats, and birds of prey. He cites a study which found that approximately 39 people in a hundred are afraid of snakes and notes that fear of snakes is especially prominent in children, even in areas where snakes are rare. The earliest attested dragons all resemble snakes or have snakelike attributes.

Jones therefore concludes that dragons appear in nearly all cultures because humans have an innate fear of snakes and other animals that were major predators of humans’ primate ancestors. Dragons are usually said to reside in “dank caves, deep pools, wild mountain reaches, sea bottoms, haunted forests“, all places which would have been fraught with danger for early human ancestors. In her book The First Fossil Hunters: Dinosaurs, Mammoths, and Myth in Greek and Roman Times (2000), Adrienne Mayor argues that some stories of dragons may have been inspired by ancient discoveries of fossils belonging to dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals. She argues that the dragon lore of northern India may have been inspired by “observations of oversized, extraordinary bones in the fossilbeds of the Siwalik Hills below the Himalayas” and that ancient Greek artistic depictions of the Monster of Troy may have been influenced by fossils of Samotherium, an extinct species of giraffe whose fossils are common in the Mediterranean region. In China, a region where fossils of large prehistoric animals are common, these remains are frequently identified as “dragon bones” and are commonly used in traditional Chinese medicine.

Mayor, however, is careful to point out that not all stories of dragons and giants are inspired by fossils and notes that Scandinavia has many stories of dragons and sea monsters, but has long “been considered barren of large fossils”. In one of her later books, she states that “Many dragon images around the world were based on folk knowledge or exaggerations of living reptiles, such as Komodo dragons, Gila monsters, iguanas, alligators, or, in California, alligator lizards, though this still fails to account for the Scandinavian legends, as no such animals (historical or otherwise) have ever been found in this region”. Robert Blust in The Origin Of Dragons (2000) argues that, like many other creations of traditional cultures, dragons are largely explicable as products of a convergence of rational pre-scientific speculation about the world of real events. In this case, the event is the natural mechanism governing rainfall and drought, with particular attention paid to the phenomenon of the rainbow. Steampunk Inspired Mechanical Dragon Statue sizes: 12.7 inches / 32 cm x 7.8 inches / 20 cm x 6.4 inches / 16 cm.

Raccoon Frogman Cadet Steampunk Statue

This Raccoon Steampunk Statue is made of high quality cold cast resin with a unique bronze powder finish. Intricately sculpted antique bronze and lightly colored finish makes this statue a stand out piece. Add a bit of deep sea flair to your Steampunk collection with this awesome Raccoon Frogman Cadet Steampunk Statue. This astounding aquanaut features incredible detail, from his dive mask and weight belt to the plasma light he holds in his hand. Made of cold cast resin, with the base is lined with felt to prevent it from scratching delicate surfaces. The bronzed finish is highlighted by hand painted accents that emphasize the detail. Based on fossil evidence from Russia and Bulgaria, the first known members of the family Procyonidae lived in Europe in the late Oligocene about 25 million years ago. Similar tooth and skull structures suggest procyonids and weasels share a common ancestor, but molecular analysis indicates a closer relationship between raccoons and bears.

After the then-existing species crossed the Bering Strait at least 6 million years later in the early Miocene, the center of its distribution was probably in Central America. Coatis (Nasua and Nasuella) and Raccoons (Procyon) have been considered to share common descent from a species in the genus Paranasua present between 5.2 and 6.0 million years ago. This assumption, based on morphological comparisons of fossils, conflicts with a 2006 genetic analysis which indicates raccoons are more closely related to ringtails. Unlike other procyonids, such as the Crab-eating Raccoon (Procyon cancrivorus), the ancestors of the common raccoon left tropical and subtropical areas and migrated farther north about 2.5 million years ago, in a migration that has been confirmed by the discovery of fossils in the Great Plains dating back to the middle of the Pliocene. Its most recent ancestor was likely Procyon rexroadensis, a large Blancan raccoon from the Rexroad Formation characterized by its narrow back teeth and large lower jaw.

A Frogman is someone who is trained in scuba diving or swimming underwater in a tactical capacity that includes military, and in some European countries, police work. Such personnel are also known by the more formal names of combat diver, combatant diver, or combat swimmer. The word frogman first arose in the stage name The Fearless Frogman of Paul Boyton in the 1870s and later was claimed by John Spence, an enlisted member of the U.S. Navy and member of the OSS Maritime Unit, to have been applied to him while he was training in a green waterproof suit. The term frogman is occasionally used to refer to a civilian scuba diver. Some sport diving clubs include the word Frogmen in their names. The preferred term by scuba users is diver, but the frogman epithet persists in informal usage by non-divers, especially in the media and often referring to professional scuba divers, such as in a police diving role. In the U.S. Military and Intelligence community, divers trained in scuba or CCUBA “a breathing apparatus that absorbs the carbon dioxide” who deploy for tactical assault missions are called “combat divers“.

This term is used to commonly refer to Navy SEALs, Navy SARC, and the Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) units. Navy SWCC have frogmen heritage of combat swimming rather than diving, one of the few and most elite units trained in this element. Other Frogmen units include Marine Raiders Marine Recon, elements of US Army Special Forces (aka Green Berets) Combat Divers, Army Ranger Regimental Reconnaissance Company, Air Force Pararescue, Air Force Combat Controllers, and Air Force Special Reconnaissance, as well as operatives of the CIA‘s Special Activities Center. In Britain, police divers have often been called “police frogmen“. Some countries’ tactical diver organizations include a translation of the word frogman in their official names, e.g., Denmark’s Frømandskorpset, others call themselves “combat divers” or similar. Others call themselves by indefinite names such as “special group 13” and “special operations unit“. Many nations and some irregular armed groups deploy or have deployed combat swimmers or divers. Steampunk Fifty Two Hertz Galactic Space Colony Whale Statue

This Steampunk Whale Statue featuring a Sci-fi Inspired Space Whale is cast from high quality resin using cold cast bronze technique. Sculpted by a master artisan, expertly polished with detailed metal-like texture. A cross between the imaginings of Jules Verne and Herman Melville, this awesome tabletop statue combines the world’s largest animal, the blue whale, with a Steampunk-designed naval warship. This Steampunk Galactic Space Colony Whale statue has been finished with a metallic bronze coating and embellished with cogs, dials, and cannons to create an awesome future-past warship. It’s a perfect addition to any Steampunk or Fantasy collection. Whales have 2 flippers on the front, and a tail fin. These flippers contain four digits. Although whales do not possess fully developed hind limbs, some, such as the sperm whale and bowhead whale, possess discrete rudimentary appendages, which may contain feet and digits. Whales are fast swimmers in comparison to seals, which typically cruise at 5-15 kn, or 9-28 kilometres per hour (5.6-17.4 mph), the fin whale, in comparison, can travel at speeds up to 47 kilometres per hour (29 mph) and the sperm whale can reach speeds of 35 kilometres per hour (22 mph). The fusing of the neck vertebrae, while increasing stability when swimming at high speeds, decreases flexibility, whales are unable to turn their heads.

When swimming, whales rely on their tail fin to propel them through the water. Flipper movement is continuous. Whales swim by moving their tail fin and lower body up and down, propelling themselves through vertical movement, while their flippers are mainly used for steering. Some species log out of the water, which may allow them to travel faster. Their skeletal anatomy allows them to be fast swimmers. Most species have a dorsal fin. Whales are adapted for diving to great depths. In addition to their streamlined bodies, they can slow their heart rate to conserve oxygen, blood is rerouted from tissue tolerant of water pressure to the heart and brain among other organs, haemoglobin and myoglobin store oxygen in body tissue, and they have twice the concentration of myoglobin than haemoglobin. Before going on long dives, many whales exhibit a behaviour known as sounding, they stay close to the surface for a series of short, shallow dives while building their oxygen reserves, and then make a sounding dive. Steampunk Fifty Two Hertz Galactic Space Colony Whale Statue measures: 11.2 inches / 28.5 cm x 6.5 inches / 16.5 cm x 6.9 inches / 17.5 cm.

Most marching bands wear a uniform, often of a military-style, that includes an associated organization’s colors, name or symbol. Most high school marching bands, and some college marching bands, are accompanied by a color guard, a group of performers who add a visual interpretation to the music through the use of props, most often flags, rifles, and sabres. Marching bands are generally categorized by function, size, age, instrumentation, marching style, and type of show they perform. In addition to traditional parade performances, many marching bands also perform field shows at sporting events and marching band competitions. This Steampunk Werewolf Statue roaring in contempt and with his hand crushing a human skull, is made of designer composite resin, hand painted and polished. He is a robotic steampunk prototype with sculpted and painted gears, motors and steampunk gas chamber technology. His killer instinct and ferocity is uncanny and hell awaits those who are in his crosshair. Tales of a Werewolf have been floating through Victorian London for weeks now. Little do they know, this monster is more machine than man or beast. You can commemorate the so-called Whitechapel Wolf with this Steampunk Werewolf Statue. This small resin statue is hand-painted to resemble pewter and depicts the hunched form of a mechanical werewolf standing over a pile of the skulls of its victims. The maw of the beast is hanging open in a silent growl, and its armored body and sharp steel claws convey its might. The Steampunk Werewolf Statue is the perfect blend of neo-Victorian lore and fantasy, and it makes a great gift for lovers of both. Futuristic Mechanical Steampunk Werewolf Statue measures: 6.5 inches / 16.5 cm x 5.75 inches / 14.5 cm x 5.5 inches / 14 cm.
